REPORT ON REGULAR ACTIVITIES

In the academic years 2018-2020, Youth Red Cross Unit, Government Law College, Coimbatore has organised many Health Oriented Camps, Holistic Personality Development Programme for Legal Professionals, Yoga classes and Tree Plantation Programme in a grant manner. The detailed report of the following programmes are given below,

BLOOD DONATION CAMP (OCTOBER 10, 2018)

Youth Red Cross of Government Law College, Coimbatore in co-ordination with Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, Coimbatore organised a Blood Donation Camp on 04-10-2018 at Government Law College, Coimbatore. The programme was inaugurated by Dr.K.S.Gopalakrishnan, Principal, Government Law College, Coimbatore. Many students were participated in this blood camp. Only 34 candidates were allowed to donate their blood. 30 student volunteers were helped to arrange this function. This camp started at 10.30 a.m. and went upto 04.00 p.m. in noon. This camp went on very well. All of them were satisfied and happy with this programme. Certificate of appreciation was given by Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, Coimbatore to the Donars and Organiser.

HOLISTIC PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME FOR LEGAL PROFESSIONALS & COMMUNICATION EMPOWERMENT FOR LEGAL PROFESSIONALS (JULY 22 – 26, 2019 & AUGUST 26 – 29, 2019)

            Youth Red Cross of Government Law College, Coimbatore in co-ordination with Holistic Personality Development Centre, Coimbatore organised a Holistic Personality Development for Legal Professionals from 22-07-2019 to 26-07-2019 & Communication Empowerment for Legal Professionals from 26-08-2019 to 29-08-2019 at Government Law College, Coimbatore. The programme was inaugurated by Dr.K.S.Gopalakrishnan, Principal, Government Law College, Coimbatore. Many Students participated in this Personality Development Programme (3 year LL.B Students, 5 year B.A.B.L Students and Ladies Hostel Students). This programme was organised into three sessions, one in the morning session, one in the afternoon session and another one in the Evening Session. Morning Session conducted from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. for 3 year LL.B Students. Afternoon Session conducted from 02.00 p.m to 03.30 p.m. for 5 year B.A.B.L Students. Evening Session conducted from 05.30 p.m to 06.30 p.m. for Ladies Hostel Students. Four Eminent Resource Persons namely, Thiru R.Santhosh, Tmt R.Sahana, Tmt R.Indhumthi and Thiru Balamurugan, Holistic Personality Development Centre, Coimbatore handled this programme very efficiently. This programme went on very well. All of them were satisfied and happy with this programme. All the students enriched their knowledge.

YOGA FOR YOUTH EMPOWERMENT (AUGUST 1-27, 2019)

            Youth Red Cross of Government Law College, Coimbatore in co-ordination with World Service Centre, Coimbatore organised Yoga for Youth Empowerment – Diploma Course on 01-08-2019 to 27-08-2019 at Government Law College, Coimbatore. This programme conducted from 10.00 a.m to 01.00 p.m. Around 25 students participated in this programme. Eminent Persons in this programme handled this programme very efficiently. Exams were conducted during the last day of their course. This programme went on very well. All of them were satisfied and happy with this programme.

TREE PLANTATION PROGRAMME (SEPETEMBER 27, 2019)

            Youth Red Cross of Government Law College, Coimbatore in co-ordination with Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch organised an extensive “Tree Plantation Programme” on 27-09-2019 at 10.45 a.m. in Government Law College, Coimbatore with the dynamic guidance of Dr.K.S.Gopalakrishnan, Principal, Government Law College, Coimbatore. The programme was inaugurated by Dr.S.Durgalakshmi, Principal (i/c), Government Law College, Coimbatore. The saplings were taken from local nurseries. The students and all the teaching and non-teaching members of Government Law College, Coimbatore effectively took part to plant saplings, actively fenced them and watered the plants with care. In order to restore the eco-balance and to ensure a lush green campus the afforestation drive was taken with all seriousness and vigour. We had planted various types of plants some of them being Teak Tree, Amla Tree, Almond Tree, Mahua Tree, Pongamia Pinnata Tree, Neem Tree. All the participants were highly enthusiastic to make it a big success. The programme created an earnest stir among the participants. At the end of the programme, there was a photo session with all the teaching and non-teaching members along with our students.

NATIONAL HANDLOOM DAY CELEBRATION (JULY 25, 2019)

            Youth Red Cross of Government Law College, Coimbatore in co-ordination with People’s Seva Centre, Coimbatore organised  a National Handloom Day Celebration on     25-07-2019 at Government Law College, Coimbatore. This programme conducted from 02.30 p.m. to 04.30 p.m. Sixteen students participated in this programme. Two minutes time was given to each student to explain the importance of Handloom and its efficacy. Two students namely, R.Swathi Rathinam (III LL.B) and S.P.Veerakash (V B.A.B.L) were finally shortlisted and they were allowed to go for finals. Four eminent persons namely, Mr.Ganapathy, Event Manager, Dream Zone, Coimbatore, Mrs Anuradha, Mrs Sowmya and Mrs Kalaivani from People’s Seva Centre, Coimbatore judged this programme very efficiently. The programme went on very well and all of them were satisfied and happy with this programme.

All these above function arrangements were successfully done by Dr.R.Kumudha, Assistant Professor & YRC Programme Officer, YRC Unit, Government Law College, Coimbatore.
